November 2016 – We are recruiting!

Following on from our successful recruitment of William, our 3rd Trainer Consultant and Becky’s return from maternity leave, we are looking to recruit a part time Secretary/ Administration Assistant to join our busy team.

The year so far…2015

Apologies for the lack of news updates recently, it’s been very busy here at Cedar, here’s some of what we’ve been up to:

Developing Business Leaders

February saw the 2nd group of ‘Developing Business Leaders’ complete their course and we kicked off a 3rd group.                                                                                                              Module 1 – Stimulating Vision, was held up in Cumbria in conjunction with VA Consultants. A whirlwind 3 days was spent creating strategic visions for them and their businesses, constructive questioning paired with some thought provoking feedback really built the group in to a team which will hopefully grow in ideas and opinions over the next 18 months. We also threw in some brutal weather, tree climbing and high rope swinging for good measure! I think they’re all returning for Part 2….I’ll let you know come June!!

Leadership Development Group 22 begins        

The second week in February saw the 22nd group from JSR Farms begin the Leadership Development Programme. Part 1 was an exhilarating, exhausting roller coaster ride of increasingly challenging tasks and in depth reviews. Lots if opportunities to lead, support or influence leadership, or be lead and provide valuable feedback to those who do. 8 men and 1 woman working for 4 farming companies on an unforgettable journey starting in Cumbria and finishing in Yorkshire in December, 4 modules later

Garden Centre Association, Associate of the Year Award 2015

Back in January Lindsay attended the annual Garden Centre Association Conference. This is a great opportunity for us to meet with many customers, both old and new, catch up with delegates who have attended courses with us and keep up to speed with what’s going on in the world of Garden Centres. It is also an opportunity for the CGA to award the work of its members and we are delighted to say that Cedar Associates won Associate Member of the Year. This is the 3rd year we have won the award and it really does mean a great deal to us.  It recognises the member who has done the most to support businesses during the year and the important part associate members play in the success of garden centre businesses. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us  and here’s some of what our voters had to say (check us out on the home page posing with our award!)
